Leaf of Hope: Providing Hope and Changing Lives for Washington Children and Families

Leaf of Hope provides Washington State children diagnosed with conditions ranging from severe forms of epilepsy to cancer with low cost dàmà CBD cannabis concentrate. We currently support 30 families, providing these “at risk” children with a high CBD strain of cannabis known as AC/DC. The program has experienced positive results thus far with an overall 25-80% reduction in seizure frequency.

What is Cannabidiol (CBD) and how does it work for Epilepsy?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound found in specific strains of the cannabis plant. Mounting medical studies, along with anecdotal scientific evidence over recent years, are showing the efficacy of CBD to treat epilepsy. The resurgence of interest in cannabis to treat intractable epilepsy, specifically using CBD, offers hope to families who have exhausted all other options. The non-psychoactive nature of CBD allows parents to treat their children without the stigma attached to the psychoactive compounds in cannabis. The oil is diluted, either with coconut or olive oil, and administered either in capsule form or mixed with food and given several times throughout the day, like other anticonvulsive medications.

Why is lab testing important?
Understanding the cannabinoid percentages in every dàmà CBD product helps parents and patients become educated and maintain control of their prescribed dosage. Third party lab testing is performed on each batch of oil we produce. Every batch of dàmà oil has a batch number that can be tracked and verified online. www.damawashington.com

What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy, as defined by the Epilepsy Foundation, is a chronic disorder, the hallmark of which is recurrent, unprovoked seizures. Many people with epilepsy have more than one type of seizure and may have other symptoms of neurological problems as well.
