In the early 1990’s, Dax Colwell was the third employee at Straightline Water Sports, a snowboard and wakeboard company located in Redmond, Washington. He was employed by Straightline for 10 years and played a key role in the massive growth of the company with the new board sport industry. After that, he started Compression Technologies and TR Manufacturing, two composite manufacturing facilities based in Bellevue, Washington, and ran a construction company for 10 years.In 2011, Colwell started researching the Washington medical cannabis market. In February of 2012, he created Dama LLC, a medical cannabis concentrate company. Later that year, Colwell merged Dama LLC with New Leaf Botanicals and created New Leaf Enterprises. As Co-founder, Colwell works jointly with Boris Gorodnitsky on new business and product development efforts. Colwell leads all of the marketing efforts at New Leaf Enterprises.
Boris Gorodnitsky began his career in software development, where he held positions in a number of technology companies from small start-ups to large corporations such as Microsoft. He served as Chief Technology Officer at Advanced Marine Technology, a high-seas marine navigation equipment company located in Seattle. He was also the director of software development at Captura, an enterprise business software company in Kirkland, Washington. In the early 2000’s, Gorodnitsky developed an interest in Washington’s nascent medical cannabis industry. After several years of small-scale growing, he began large-scale flower production for the medical industry in 2009, and formed New Leaf Enterprises, Inc. with Dax Colwell in 2012. As Co-founder, Gorodnitsky works directly with Colwell on business development and new product efforts. Gorodnitsky leads all product aspects for the business including growing and processing techniques.
